What To Expect

The Ghetto Heroes Square
Start your tour at the large Ghetto Heroes Square (Plac Bohaterow Getta) with 70 metal chairs symbolizing scenes of great horrors, humiliations and departure of the victims to the camps. A well-known the Eagle Pharmacy (our meeting point) is located on the edge of the square. Its owner Tadeusz Pankiewicz - who wasn’t Jewish - but still decided to stay in the Ghetto area to help its poor inhabitants.

Plaszow Concentration Camp
Next step is to catch a tram (tickets included) with a direction to Plaszow Nazi Concentration Camp. While thousands of tourists come to Krakow to see Auschwitz & Birkenau (which indeed is must to be seen!), only a few are aware that the city of kings has a former concentration camp in its own suburbs. Which is even more surprising that even Krakow’s citizens have a very limited knowledge about this dark part of the history. Today a wild, uneven area with hidden monuments, unforgettable panoramic views and largely unvisited tracks - these all make this tour a unique experience, outside the box. Needless to say it was here that many of the real-life events in Steven Spielberg’s movie Schindler’s List have happened. What a story! During this part you have a chance to see remains of the two Jewish Cemeteries, a former Grey House (administrative and residential building), Amon Goeth's Villa (do you remember this cruel person from the movie?), Liban Quarry and many, many others…

Krakus Mound
Then find the way out of the beaten path in the direction to Krakus Mound - one of two prehistoric monumental mounds in the city. Here you find the best opportunity for relaxing, having a snack (we recommend bringing something with you) or just climbing up the sixteen-meter summit. Panoramic views from the city's highest point are amazing and well worth it.

Muzeum Krakowa, oddzial Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera
After these two parts full of amazing stories about occupied Krakow (but not only!) told by our local guide, you will be taken to visit Oskar Schindler’s Factory (tickets included) keeping your own pace of sightseeing (approx. 2hours). Here you will be allowed to enter and witness relics from World War II, broadening your understanding of the loss suffered by Jewish people during the war. The exhibition is very multimedial and having a guide is not necessary here, especially if you just had the best-guided history lesson during your whole stay in Krakow.
