Perfect Way To Start A Trip To The City
Janine_T, 04-11-2019
Can think of no better way to begin a visit to the cultural capital of Poland, Krakow. This tour not only familiarized us with the sites and streets of this impressive historical city, but it gave us a strong sense of familiarity with the city's ebb and flow quickly. Our entire visit, we relied on what we learned this tour.

Our guide, Bartosz was an expert in the religious history of the city, telling tales of murder and intrigue that led to the city's infinite numbers of churches. He shared his knowledge of the church's place in local culture. He told us of the rich history of the Wawel Castle and how the attached church out of 4 distinct architectural styles. He explained the breakdowns of what we were seeing and why almost every church was Catholic. We heard stories of dragons and fire, of trumpeters and salutes. He explained the city's 3 districts as we meandered all around Old Town. Our guide made sure we understood hidden elements of the city and some of the best views around.

Additionally, he was very accommodating - always checking in with the pace, asking if we needed to sit, or if we were interested in running off to a hidden university square, took our pictures everywhere and waited as I snapped more. He had tips for things to go back and see and was interested in our adventures.

We would recommend everyone start their tour this way. Of all the places we visited in Poland, we felt most comfortable here wandering around and attribute that to the excellent walking tour we did when we arrived.

We just asked the driver who was sat outside the Cathedral about his tours. His Name was Rafal. We could not of had a better guide. We did the Jewish quater visited synagogos and Churches he gave us time to stop and visit he answered all our questions his knowledge of the history was amazing we learned so much. We went to schindlers factory not the tour of the museum though but Rafal gave us the little booklet explaining everything. I found this tour emotional, interesting and enjoyable more so because of our excellent guide.
Exactly what we wanted.

Our guide “Slim” was clearly in love with his city, and made the effort to customize the tour to our special interests (WWII). Highly recommended!

Great introduction to history of Kraków. Our guide was very enthusiastic, able to answer all our questions. She was also flexible to our particular needs. We learned a lot and were able to use what we learned for our further visits around the city.
