The New Square
Until the mid-19th century, the area of today's Nowy Square (commonly known as the Jewish Square) was part of the Jewish town. The complex of streets, neglected and chaotically built up, was put in order, and the marked out square was called Nowy ("New"). The present buildings around the square were formed mostly at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the most characteristic element is the so-called Okrąglak, erected as a covered market hall.

The Ghetto Heroes Square
Ghetto Heroes Square is a square in the Podgórze district of Krakow.
In the years 1941–1943 it was within the ghetto. It was a place of concentration of the Jewish population before transport to concentration camps.
Currently, there is an unusual monument in this place - several dozen cast-iron chairs standing individually in the square. They symbolize the items left over from the liquidation of the ghetto.
