Currently, camp Auschwitz-Birkenau is a synonym for world’s most cruel terror, genocide and atrocities. The camp was built by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of Oswiecim. The total number of deaths and executions is estimated to be over 1.5-million people from 28 nationalities. Almost 90% of these people were Jews.

Since 1979 this site has been listed on the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage list. This place with an unbelievable sad and cruel history is something, that everyone should see.

Humbling with a wow factor
Alexandra_L, 08-12-2022
A humbling experience but so worth it. From the moment we were picked up, the staff where professional, and the transport comfortable. The guide we had was extremely knowledgeable and spoke very good english. There is alot of walking and if you go in December like us, it is cold, so not for the faint hearted. The salt mines were like something you've never seen before, however we did feel that after the visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau we could have done without doing the Salt Mine on the same day to save our aching feet, however we pushed on regardless and where so pleased to have visited. Highly recommended.
